Wise Integration’s digital control technology to combine with Navitas’ wide-bandgap technologies
Fabless company Wise Integration SAS of Hyeres, France — which specializes in digital control solutions for wide-bandgap (GaN and SiC)-based power converters — and gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductor firm Navitas Semiconductor Corp of Torrance, CA, USA have agreed to collaborate on advancing power-computing applications for AI PCs, high-end workstations, desktop computers for gamers, and industrial systems.
The companies will focus on AI data-center power supply units (PSUs) and the exploration of additional power conversion topologies by combining Wise Integration’s distributed digital control technology and Navitas’ wide-bandgap technologies, including its GaN and SiC technologies, to address high-voltage, high-power and high-efficiency applications from grid-to-chip.
Advanced power conversion for AI data-center PSUs and next-generation computing
AI data centers and performance computing applications are driving significant growth in energy demand and creating new requirements for efficiency, power density and system performance. In AI data-center PSUs and energy infrastructure, these requirements are also making it necessary to deploy new power conversion architectures to deliver higher efficiency and power density. By combining Navitas’ GaN and SiC power technologies with Wise Integration’s digital-control expertise, the companies aim to explore new approaches to power conversion.
“Wide-bandgap technologies are unlocking new levels of power density and efficiency, but realizing their full potential requires advanced control,” says Wise Integration’s CEO Ghislain Kaiser. “With WiseWare [digital control technology designed to boost power density, efficiency, and performance], we bring the digital intelligence needed to optimize power conversion in real time. Combining this capability with Navitas’ GaN and SiC technologies can enable more efficient, compact, and high-performance power supply solutions for AI data centers and next-generation computing systems,” he adds.
“AI data centers and performance computing applications are creating unprecedented need for solutions that deliver higher efficiency and better power density,” notes Vipin Bothra, Navitas’ VP, global solution marketing. “By combining Navitas’ next-generation GaN and SiC power technologies with Wise Integration’s digital-control expertise, we can deliver solutions that help customers address these rapidly evolving system requirements.”
