ROHM’s silicon carbide used in electric powertrain of BMW’s ‘Neue Klasse’ Gen 6 EVs
ROHM Semiconductor says that its silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductor chips are being used in the electric powertrain architecture of BMW’s ‘Neue Klasse’ Gen 6 electric vehicle platform.
The high-performance components integrated into the vehicle support key power electronics functions and are designed to deliver high energy efficiency as well as reliable operation under demanding automotive conditions, contributing to optimizing the driving range, charging performance, and the overall energy efficiency of electric vehicles.
