Aixtron’s Q3 orders and operating profitability exceed market expectations
Deposition equipment maker Aixtron SE of Herzogenrath, near Aachen, Germany says that its preliminary results for third-quarter 2026 show that order intake, operating result (EBIT) and EBIT margin significantly exceed current market expectations.
Preliminary revenue in Q3/2026 is about €184m (up from Q3/2025 €119.6m), well within the forecast range of €180m±€20m.
Preliminary operating profitability exceeded market expectations, in particular due to a favorable product mix. Q3/2026 gross profit reached about €87m, corresponding to a gross margin of 48% (up from €46.4m and 39% in Q3/2025 a year ago). Preliminary operating result (EBIT) is about €57m, with an EBIT margin of 31% (up from €15.4m and 13% in Q3/2025).
The guidance for full-year fiscal 2026 remains unchanged.
Preliminary order intake is about €275m, more than doubling from €124m in Q3/2025 a year ago. This was significantly above the median analyst estimate of €214.6m based on the company’s current consensus, and also well above Q2/2026’s €214.5m.
“Our order intake continues to be driven by strong demand for equipment for laser applications in AI data-center communications,” notes CEO Dr Felix Grawert. “At the same time, a favorable product mix contributed to profitability significantly above market expectations,” he adds. “The high order intake clearly strengthens our business prospects for 2027.”
The full quarterly statement for third-quarter 2026, including the results for the first nine months of 2026, will be issued as scheduled on 29 October.
