Riber receives new order from 3SP for production platform
Molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) system maker Riber S.A. of Bezons, France has received a new order from 3SP Technologies S.A.S. of Nozay, Essonne, France — a long-standing customer for more than 20 years — for an industrial passivation platform. The system is scheduled for delivery in 2027.
Founded in 1994 and, since 2014, a subsidiary of China’s O-Net Technologies (Shenzhen) Group Co Ltd (which provides optical networking products for telecoms and datacoms applications), 3SP designs and manufactures optoelectronic components, including III-V semiconductor laser chips, photonic integrated circuits and modules for data-center and telecoms applications.
The new system will enable 3SP to expand its industrial production capacity in order to meet growing demand for high-performance photonic components used in next-generation optical networking applications.
“This new order will significantly increase the production capacity of 3SP Technologies’ 980nm high-power laser diodes,” says Austin Na, chairman of 3SP and chairman & CEO of O-Net Communications Group. “This will enable 3SP Technologies to enhance its customers’ support to better satisfy the booming demand for these products in data-center interconnects, Hyper-rails system and other industrial applications, and reinforce 3SP Technologies’ leading position in this growing market,” he adds. “It also reflects 3SP’s lasting confidence in Riber, built on more than two decades of partnership.”
