III-V Lab delivers photonics training on ‘Digital Infrastructures’ and ‘Safety, Security & Space’

As one of the 36 partners in the PhotonHub PHACTORY project (a one-stop-shop for photonics innovation, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe program), III-V Lab of Palaiseau, France (the joint Nokia, Thales and CEA-Leti lab for industrial research and the development of III-V-based optoelectronic and microelectronic components and their integration with silicon circuits) is giving three training sessions:

  • On-site training: 29 January 2026 at Palaiseau (9:00-17:30);
  • ‘Digital Infrastructures’ webinar: 6 February 2026 (10:00-12:00);
  • ‘Safety, Security & Space’ webinar: 6 February 2026 (14:30-16:30).

As a PhotonHub PHACTORY Demo and Experience Centre, III-V Lab offers technical training, to support start-ups and SMEs for the rapid integration of photonic technologies at the heart of their innovations and to allow strengthening the local business community.

III-V Lab is convinced of the capabilities of photonics in terms of potential innovations and wishes to convince local actors of the relevance of integrating it into their products. As an industrial research laboratory, III-V Lab is at the heart of an ecosystem between university research and industry.

“Photonics is an important lever for strengthening Europe’s industrial autonomy,” says III-V Lab’s chairman & managing director Jean-René Bois. “With these trainings, we want to empower businesses to embrace these technologies in order to accelerate their innovation and conquer tomorrow's markets.”

III-V Lab reckons that, by explaining the steps of simulation, design, manufacturing, packaging and measurements, photonics will become accessible to all.
