Mainland China’s SCNU installs Aixtron MOCVD system

Aixtron AG of Aachen, Germany announced that its Thomas Swan CCS 3x2" FT MOCVD system has been installed at the South China Normal University (SCNU), Guangzhou, China. SCNU is the first organisation located in mainland China to use the system.

SCNU’s Guangzhou LED research and development center will use the system to develop GaN-based HB-LEDs.

Prof. Fan Guang-Han, director of the MOCVD laboratory at SCNU, said: “I am very much looking forward to working with the new reactor. It will make an enormous contribution to our nitride research. The Thomas Swan CCS reactors are well-known for their adaptability to nitride LED process development.”

Aixtron’s new 3x2-inch Flip Top platform includes a compact footprint and new digital control of mass flow and pressure controllers.
