Ascent's EnerPlex Surfr battery & solar case for iPhone 6 now on sale

Ascent Solar Technologies Inc of Thornton, CO, USA, which makes lightweight, flexible copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS) thin-film photovoltaic modules integrated into off-grid applications and its EnerPlex series of consumer products, has announced availability of its EnerPlex Surfr battery & solar case for the Apple iPhone 6 at goenerplex.com as well as select retail partners.

The Surfr battery & solar case for the iPhone 6 is the first Apple MFi (Made for iPhone)-certified case to integrate both battery storage as well as solar charging capability into a thin and compact design. Enabling more than 10 hours of extra talk-time as well as doubled video and audio capacity, it keeps iPhone users powered up throughout the day without needing to seek a power outlet.

"With over 100 million iPhone 6s already sold both domestically and internationally, the EnerPlex Surfr is primed to penetrate an extremely large group of consumers, many of whom have a desperate need for more battery life," says Ascent Solar's president & CEO Victor Lee. 

The EnerPlex Surfr for iPhone 6 is integrated with a 2700mAh lithium polymer battery as well as an ultra-thin photovoltaic panel, allowing the case to be less than 15mm thick while still providing power and protection.
