Lightfair sees Technical Innovation Award for Lumileds’ LUXEON Rebel ES

Philips Lumileds of San Jose, CA, USA says that its LUXEON Rebel ES (added to its LUXEON Rebel family of power LEDs in in late April) was recognized at last week’s Lightfair 2009 event in New York with the LFI Technical Innovation Award. The LFI Innovation Awards honour industry innovations for lighting-related products.

This year, there were more than 200 entries, each evaluated by an independent panel of lighting professionals. LUXEON Rebel ES, which is claimed to be the first product specified to deliver a minimum of 100 lumens per watt, was selected for its “leap forward in lighting technology”.

As well as the small size, high light output, long useful life and ruggedness of LUXEON Rebel products, the ES also offers:

  • specified 100 lumen per watt performance;
  • a path to minimizing energy consumption and reducing carbon footprint;
  • simpler LED selection to speed design and manufacturing and to lower development costs; and
  • robust performance over temperature to reduce fluctuations in efficacy and light output.

The LUXEON Rebel ES is available via Future Lighting Solutions.
