Honeywell targets Lumileds, Cree with LED patent lawsuit

Honeywell International Inc has filed a lawsuit against Philips Lumileds Lighting Company and Cree Inc, two leading US-based LED manufacturers, claiming infringement of US Patent no. 6,373,188 B1.

The patent entitled "Efficient solid-state light emitting device with excited phosphors for producing a visible light output" was filed on December 22, 1998, and was issued on April 16, 2002.
