Skyworks adds high-efficiency power amplifier for infrastructure and small-cell applications

Skyworks Solutions Inc of Woburn, MA, USA (which manufactures analog and mixed-signal semiconductors) has added to its family of high-efficiency power amplifiers (PA) that are designed for the stringent requirements of enterprise small-cell applications.

The new SKY66318-11 PA offers wide instantaneous bandwidth (100MHz) and is fully input/output matched with high gain and efficiency. On-chip active biasing circuitry is also integrated to compensate for PA performance over temperature, voltage and process variations.

With a compact 5mm x 5mm package and operating from a single 5V power supply, the pin-to-pin compatible device supports major 3GPP bands and is suitable for 4G LTE and 5G NR systems at 3300-3600MHz. The SKY66318-11 is also part of major transceiver reference designs.
