EPC sponsoring inaugural ‘GaN Con’ event with Yole and SEMI

Efficient Power Conversion Corp (EPC) of El Segundo, CA, USA – which makes enhancement-mode gallium nitride on silicon (eGaN) power field-effect transistors (FETs) for power management applications – is joining forces with market analyst firm Yole Développement and trade organization SEMI to sponsor the first ever ‘GaN Con,’ a half-day industry networking event at the SEMI Office in Milpitas, CA, USA on the morning of 21 February that will covering the entire power GaN industry.

Focused on the emerging GaN market and the state-of-the-art for its underlying technology, the theme of GaN Con is ‘Power GaN: from promises to possible market explosion’. The event will gather leading companies from component manufacturers to end users, who will discuss and debate on GaN market and its future evolution by mixing visions at an executive level. Key speakers include Yole, EPC, GaN Systems, Navitas, and Texas Instruments.

Under Yole’s base-case scenario, the GaN market is estimated to be rising steadily at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 55% between 2017 and 2023 (according to the report ‘Power GaN: Epitaxy, Devices, Applications and Technology Trends’). Yole identified multiple power electronics and compound semiconductor companies (including leading silicon suppliers) strongly engaged in significant development projects. GaN Con offers an opportunity to further explore the status of GaN technology and its adoption.

“GaN Con is a great opportunity for companies to get an up-to-date overview of GaN technologies and power electronics applications, understand the technical challenges and debate with industrial experts,” says Ana Villamor PhD., technology & market analyst at Yole.

Ticket fees are $120, including sessions and coffee break. Registration is open now.
