GigOptix raises Q1 revenue guidance by 5-6%, up 22-23% year-on-year

GigOptix Inc of San Jose, CA, USA (a fabless supplier of analog semiconductor and optical communications components for fiber-optic and wireless networks) says that it expects revenue for first-quarter 2015 to be 5-6% above the midpoint of the guidance range of $8.5-8.7m provided on 9 February, and up 22-23% on the revenue reported for first-quarter 2014.

The stronger preliminary revenue performance comes during what is traditionally a seasonally down quarter for the firm. Continued robust demand in both its High Speed Communications and Industrial businesses resulted in the higher-than-forecasted revenue.

GigOptix cautions that the anticipated revenue results are preliminary and are based on the best information currently available and subject to completion of the financial statements for first-quarter 2015.
