Custom MMIC launches 1-24GHz GaAs driver amplifier delivering +20dBm output

Custom MMIC of Westford, MA, USA, a developer of performance-driven monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), has added a new 1-24GHz distributed driver amplifier in die form to its growing product line.

The CMD197 gallium arsenide (GaAs) monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) amplifier offers 16dB of flat gain with a corresponding output 1dB compression point of greater than +20dBm and an output IP3 of greater than +30dBm across its entire bandwidth.

The amplifier also features a single positive bias requirement, an on-chip bias choke, 50-Ohm port matches, wide bandwidth, and high linearity. Full passivation of the die ensures increased reliability and moisture protection.

Suitable applications for the CMD197 include military and space, wideband communication systems, microwave radio, VSAT, and test instrumentation.
