CPV system maker Amonix chooses Flextronics as manufacturing partner

Amonix Inc of Seal Beach, CA, USA has selected Singapore-based electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider Flextronics as a manufacturing partner for its concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) utility-scale solar systems (which use III-V multi-junction solar cells).

“Amonix is committed to delivering high-quality, cost-effective solar power generation systems to utilities and independent power producers,” says CEO Brian Robertson. “Partnering with a proven world-class manufacturer for production will allow us to connect more customers to cost-effective solar power,” he adds. “In addition, Flextronics’ manufacturing capabilities right here in California and also in Nevada will enable us to reduce time-to-market and rapidly scale our business to meet the needs of customers in our target markets of California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and other Southwestern US states with sunny and dry climates.”

In late October, Amonix Inc broke ground on its new 214,000 square foot manufacturing facility in North Las Vegas, supplementing manufacturing at its headquarters in Seal Beach.

“The reliability and precision the Amonix system demands matches perfectly with our capabilities to manufacture high-quality solar systems and further strengthens our reach into the expanding clean tech market,” comments E.C. Sykes, president of Flextronics Industrial.
